“Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent free in your head!”

I like the statement above; how true it is.

We may often be let down by people, or we lose a job or a relationship comes to an end and we are then consumed with hate and/or anger. However,  we must learn to let go at some point.  Unfortunately, there are some people who simply cannot  do so and you see them many years after the end of a relationship or friendship, still holding a grudge.

Anger is understandable and we all lose our patience or get angry with people who let us down but we must allow ourselves some time to digest this, get over it and then move on.  Just think of it this way. “Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent free in your head!” . They don’t pay rent, clean the dishes, take out the rubbish, or do anything else to make your head-space better by being there – so why are you allowing someone to occupy your head, rent free?

Move on, let it go, and focus on the future. Life has a way of rectifying wrongs; let nature take its course. To read more posts by Miriam, click HERE
