It is said falling in love is similar to when you look left and right before crossing the street and then an aeroplane hits you. A singer by the name Usher summarizes it in a song that says, “There’s always that one person that will always have your heart. You’ll never see it coming cause you’re blinded from the start” How true those words are.

In a world of 7 billion people, one day someone will cross your path and wreck your universe apart. When they do, value them and make them feel special, take care of them. We have friends and we hear stories through and through of people who wished they had taken better care of the one they loved but are now living in remorse. What they couldn’t treasure, is now forever gone.

The irony of life playing perfectly into the grand order of things. We value things before we get them or soon after we lose them. Do not allow this to spill over into your relations with human beings. Learn to cherish what you have loved from the beginning.

Make those around you feel valued. When you do, they are able to give you in return, the best of themselves. Let us create an environment around us and an atmosphere that allows for others to express themselves freely and to thrive fully.

That would imply we improve on our communication mechanisms, listen a little better than we do and being deliberate about the things we do, clearly sharing our intentions, seeking a common ground before we proceed to act on what we have imagined.  Until we speak again, I am your host Mitchell Odhiambo. Welcome to a man’s world. To get a female perspective on this, please read Mercy’s post HERE
