MIKE OTIENO is a seasoned communication and marketing professional. He is currently the Head of Partnerships and Communications at Evidence Action under the G-United Program, a prestigious one year national volunteer program for university graduates initiated by the Presidency. His role entails identifying and engaging potential partners in the private and public sectors for the G-United Program. Mike has been instrumental in initiating solid partnerships for the G-United program with KEPSA, KAM, Safaricom, Samsung, Oracle, IBM, Stathmore @ I lab, UNV, UNESCO, Airtel to name but a few.
Before that Mike was the Regional team leader for AITEC Africa where he organized B to B ICT Conferences and Exhibitions for C-Level clients across Eastern, Southern and Western Africa. As Regional team leader he led a team of 20 ambitious individuals in AITEC Africa’s Headquarters in Nairobi and managed a portfolio of 9 international conferences annually valued at over $1,000,000.
Mike is passionate about Education and Youth empowerment. He sits in the Board of Education for All Children organization (EFAC) an organization that provides high school and higher education scholarships for needy children in Kenya. Mike’s role at EFAC is to lead the efforts for local fundraising and to strengthen sustainability of the scholarship program.
Mike enjoys playing basketball and meeting new people through networking. He is also an alumni Brand Ambassador for AfricaTalentbank.com.
