What separates a good leader from a GREAT leader? A Great leader has no fear of failure. They don’t like it one bit however, they will not let this uncomfortable feeling stop them from pursuing their ambition(s).

Fear of failure can make some leaders reluctant to make decisions or indeed, reluctant to take risks, expand in to new markets, launch new products or they may even turn down new opportunities. Great leaders also fear failure of course however, they trust that they will  get themselves out of any bad situations and if not, then they put this down to experience and move on. Great leaders do not wallow in self pity – it hurts but they have the ability to move on.

Fear of failure has crippled many leaders, leading to delayed decisions and even, companies closing down because leaders feared doing anything out of the ordinary lest they risk profits – ironically sometimes playing too safe can, in the end, destroy a company.

In the world we live in now, leaders need to constantly look at introducing innovative ideas/products or face losing customers/market share. It seems these days, playing it safe, is the biggest risk of all. To read more posts by Miriam, click HERE
