‘SUCCESS IS THE SUM OF SMALL EFFORTS, REPEATED DAY IN AND DAY OUT’ – Robert Collier

Do you remember learning the alphabet or learning your multiplication tables? How did you do learn these? More often than not, by repeating them over and over again, right?

When you got them wrong, you simply started again and kept trying. That’s the great thing about being a child – you really don’t worry about failure, success, or trying to please others. You just get back and do what you have to do. Then we become adults and we pick up bad habits including viewing failure as the end of the world or failure as a huge embarrassment from which we cannot recover. What a pity our mind-set changes as we grow older; what a pity we start to worry about what others think! So, you have two options:

(1) Keep worrying about what others think and thus limit your ambition(s)

(2) Keep pursuing your dreams knowing one day, you will make it.

Everyone knows, success doesn’t happen overnight – it takes hard work, patience and perseverance. So, when you next fail, think back to when you were a 5 yr old who was not at all self conscious. When you do, you will simply get back on the bicycle and keep peddling. To read more posts by Miriam, click HERE
