When we talk about choosing love or money, this question seems mostly directed at women. That is, most people believe women are the ones who, when choosing a mate, will settle on one: either for love or for money.
You will often hear phrases like: “I can’t believe we have broken up after spending this much on her.” “I can never trust even my wife with my payslip/ATM Pin.” And the most common: “I thought she loved him but clearly she just wanted him to be her ATM.”
What is happening? Has love become a means to money or money a means to love? The other day, I heard someone say that if he truly loves you, then he should give you his ATM Pin. So if he doesn’t give this to you, does it mean he doesn’t love you or is it an issue of trust? I guess I am now confused here. I believe that it is not just a woman’s problem, since many women now work and earn good salaries. I believe this issue is now a global problem and one which applies to both genders.
As much as women are blamed and told that they love money, I think men have contributed to this. When pursuing a woman do you bank on what you can provide or your financial status or is it more about your character and what both of you mean to one other? I think it’s as easy as this; if all you speak about is what you own or have rather than the man you are, then surely this in itself is a red flag right there and you end up attracting the wrong sort of woman.
Let’s break it down. What matters between the two of you. Is it love or money? What is your greatest fear; to lose your money, to live in poverty, to lose the one you love? Let us not generalize and blame this only on females. It’s the responsibility of both. Let us not assume that women value money over love. Financial stability is a varying factor, whereas character and love remains. Make a wise choice😉 Love, instead of making it rain i.e. “Anything she wanted I bought it” “I broke my neck to make sure that this girl didn’t go with out it” “I can’t hate the homie; cause I am to blame” “Instead of loving you I was making it rain”(Love vs Money – The dream).
