A story is told about a lion who lived in a dense jungle and was known for his great power. He was strong and had mighty claws and teeth but he had just one problem – he was terrified by the cocking of the rooster.

“Can life be worth living if a creature as mighty as me is afraid of such a small creature as a rooster? “The lion cried bitterly. In the midst of being in his sad state, he came across an elephant flapping his big ears in distress.

“What troubles you my friend? Can anything have the power to harm a beast of your size, bulk and strength? “The lion asks.

“Oh yes, you will be shocked. Do you see that black buzzing gnat! If he wishes to sting inside my ear, I will go mad in pain. “After listening to the elephant’s predicament, the lion understood that even the strongest of creatures have their weak points and this built his self-confidence.

Sometimes we feel like we are so pushed by circumstances, like life has gotten to that point where we cannot do much anymore. We look at others and think they are better off and lucky. Sadly, what we don’t realize is that everyone is fighting their own battles. Everyone has their own fears and weak-points that we can’t see. Don’t let your fears make you feel like you are less worthy of life than others whom you think are more fulfilled. As the ‘King’ in your own jungle, just like you have your weak points, others have it too and it doesn’t make you any less of a person.  To read more posts by Mercy, click HERE
