Forgiveness is both simple and yet complicated. Does forgiveness mean forgetting? Does it mean letting go? Or does forgiveness simply mean tolerance?

Forgiveness is both simple and yet complicated. Does forgiveness mean forgetting? Does it mean letting go? Or does forgiveness simply mean tolerance?

From my experience and from the stories I have heard, I can say that women are better at tolerating than men, while men are better at letting go and moving on. I don’t know which of the two, is better. What matters more, is keeping things alive and going strong.

Women easily tolerate the wrongs done to them but hold them as a grudge most of the time. Men on the other hand, when they decide to forgive (which may take a while or never at all), totally let go of the wrongs and don’t bring up the issue again. of course this may vary with principles and personalities.

One thing I do know though is that love does not keep count of wrongs. Therefore as a couple, the gift of forgiveness is a precious one for the survival of a marriage or relationship. Your better half could be the one messing up now and you could be the one messing up the next day so if you keep count, this will create unnecessary tension that could ruin the whole relationship you have taken so long to build.
