A story is told about the coldest winter ever, that was experienced. During this season many animals died because of the extremely low temperatures. When the porcupines realized the situation, they decided to come together as a group so that they could keep warm. This way they covered & protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions.

After a while they thought they could not bear the small wounds thus they decided to distance themselves one from one another. Given the cold, they began to die, alone & frozen. This called for them to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationships with their companions in order to receive the heat that came from the others. Their choice helped them survive the whole of the season.

In life, the best relationships are not the ones that bring together perfect people because there is nothing such as perfect people anyway. When each individual learns to live with the imperfections of the other and can admire the other person’s good qualities, it creates perfection. People get to be perfect together because they are able to compromise and accommodate one another.

Life is there to be lived and we should not make it the “Kinda” type of life. Kinda produces kinda and I believe nobody wants such. It is our duty to make everything worthwhile. If you can live with their imperfections, focus on their good qualities and make life beautiful. Happiness is always a choice. To read more posts by Gertrude click HERE
