Lucy Muthoni is a lecturer at Strathmore University, and has been teaching for more than ten years at different levels. She has a BSc. in Actuarial Science from Maseno University, and MSc. in Actuarial Science from University of Nairobi and currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematical Finance from Strathmore University. Lucy has gone through numerous training in Financial Mathematics and Securities Markets courses at University of Cape Town (UCT) and African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in South Africa.
Apart from teaching, Lucy is also an expert in derivatives modeling and pricing. Having been advised by the Capital Markets Authority, she is currently working on a project that will produce a zero coupon yield curve for the Nairobi Securities Exchange. Her research work led to her being named as the ‘Researcher of the Month’ in March 2015, at Strathmore University. Lucy has also worked in the insurance industry where she was underwriting for Kenindia Assurance, and later moved to Fund management where she worked with Genesis Investment Company, now under Centum Investment Limited.
Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge with her and will be speaking at the AfricaTalentbank.com (ATB) Entrepreneur Bootcamp on Friday, 31 July 2015 (8.30am to 4pm), New Hall, St Andrews Church, State House Rd.
