EABL tips from someone who got into the Graduate Programme

The Grad programme at EABL is a fantastic one.  Candidates start by experiencing a little bit of each function in the business before plugging into their area of expertise. This gives 360 degree insight and understanding of the whole business and sharpens commercial acumen.

I’ll talk about tips for applicants; The first stage was introductory essays and these look at why one wants to join EABL so having market and trends insights would be helpful.

Then the online aptitude tests where one needs to be as authentic as possible as when it comes to personality analysis, there is no right or wrong answer so just be yourself guys 🙂

Then the abstract reasoning, math and English tests; only one phrase for this; “practice makes perfect” there are many tools to use for practice in the ATB platform, even sample tests.

Then comes the assessment center season where the candidates meet together and are assessed on group dynamics as well as situational leadership. Do not be overly dominant or sink behind the crowds but demonstrate Authenticity and teamwork.

The final stage is an interview with the directors and this can take any course as different leaders approach this final interview from different angles; be dynamic and flexible, your first question might be “Tell me about your grandma”

Being open minded and embracing change as well as being a people person helped me adjust, settle in well and excel in my first year.  As a result, I have matured a lot and this is the beauty of the programme; not only does it focus on building your functional capabilities but also your individual ones making you a better leader to be able to serve in Kenya and beyond.  The sky is the limit; Twende Kazi!!
