Congratulations you made it in to the New Year. I have been listening to people giving their account of how 2018 was to them and few have anything good to say about the past year. The usual curious me decided to look things from a different perspective and I realised something. If you took a clean container then you put dirty water in it,will you blame the container or brand it bad simply because it is holding something bad in it? I don’t thinks so. The container has no problem it’s what is stored in it that is the issue.

Friends let us stop bashing the year because it is simply a container. Whatever is put into it, it faithfully stores it. We should question what we are putting into it, be it in business, our relationships, studies or our thoughts and words. If a container looks dirty, check what is in it or has been in it because more often than not, it’s the cause of the current state of the container. 2019 is still young and it won’t be any different from 2018, if we continue doing things the way we did them last year. There needs to be a shift in our thinking and execution of thoughts and ideas. Before we start declaring this year “our year” we need to ask the pertinent questions:

  • What are my goals for this year?
  • How do I plan to go about achieving them?
  • What is the time frame?
  • What is the cost of implementation?

Then from this point, we need to have accountability partner or partners who will keep us in  check. Remember success will only come when there is total dedication, commitment, consistency and persistence. In the same way you can’t cook food from the light emmited by a fire, same way words and declarations alone will never achieve success. There is the action part. Happy New Year as you look forward to achieving your life purpose. To read more posts by Mwangi, click HERE
