Those, who like me love farming, know about nurseries. I know many are raising eyebrows because the nurseries they know about are the educational ones i.e the ones found in formative educational institutions.

For the unschooled, as far as farming is concerned, these nurseries are a designated parts in the farm prepared specifically to sow and nurture seedlings of the crops whose seeds cannot be planted directly into the farm. This is a very delicate process and this area is protected and only the qualified are allowed access them. These young shoots are vulnerable and require extreme care and proper handling if they are to achieve the farmer’s aspirations for them. Once they have acquired a certain degree of maturity, they are then transferred into the farm where less care is required.

Our ideas, dreams, aspirations and visions are like the scenario above. At their formative stage, they are very delicate and have many enemies. These may include friends, families, society, media and in some instances, the government. This is usually the defining moment and any success or lack of is determined at this point. We need to be careful whom we share our ideas with. Some will discourage us while others will try to derail our plans. Only those who offer help or advice that can help us achieve our goals and visions should be allowed to access them. Visions have many enemies and we should protect them at all costs. Guard your dreams and visions; for it is from there that you achieve the future you so much long for. To read more posts by Mwangi, click HERE
