“Every morning in the jungle, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.

Every morning, a lion wakes up
It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death

It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle
When the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” -Meir Liraz Biztips

You may wake up feeling resigned, like the world is against you, like you just want to lie down and let it win. You may be lucky enough to have that option; knowing that even if you were to literally do nothing, you would still be okay because there would be somebody who would come to your aid in your time of need. That you are not, completely alone.

And I get that.

But what about when you don’t have that safety net around you anymore? When it all starts and ends with you? When you no longer have that room to be complacent and lazy because unlike before, now action really matters. When you reach a point where it ALL matters. What then?

Just like that gazelle, you will have to run, and keep running; lest the world overcomes and devours you.
And still, just like the lion, you will have to run, and keep running; lest your dreams and aspirations elude you.

So we must keep running; every day, and every hour.  Click HERE to read more posts by Anne.
