In our modern day society, shoes are a must and apart from very special or extreme cases, shoes are almost always worn. They usually serve two purposes. One is to protect our feet from injury from sharp or hard objects and the other one is as a fashion accessory. Shoes are also made from different materials and in different designs mostly according to the targeted consumers. Another unique feature about the shoe is its size which happens to be the focus point of this short post.

Human feet come in all shapes and sizes and it is not strange to see two people who have the same feet size wearing different sizes of shoes because of the shape of their feet. Another factor is the type or design of the shoe. Boots have their own designs as do some sneakers as well as other types of shoes. The price of shoes is determined by the material, size, design and the target customer base.

I believe there are a lot of similarities between our shoes and our lives. We all may be human beings but right from conception, we became special and all of us have something unique that cannot be found in any other being. There are things we do or should do that nobody else can do the way we do. The sad thing is that very few of us know our “shoe size.” So we end up wearing ill fitting “shoes” which are either too small, or too big. Until the day we discover this, we will always live frustrated lives and if not careful, will end up falling  into the trap that many have fallen into, of being exploited by those who know our “shoe size”.

Its a sad state of affairs that many of us are helping other people live and achieve their dreams while our own dreams remain dormant in our minds. We need to go on a journey, a journey into ourselves, in to the deep recesses of our hearts because that is where all information as pertains to our destiny is hidden. We have to dig deep and drink from that well in us and once we discover our shoe size, then the journey to success will be more easier and smoother. To read more posts by Mwangi, click HERE
