Wednesday this past week was International Women’s Day; a day to celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and let me begin by wishing a Happy Women’s Day to all my female readers. You make the other half of the human divide delightful for the joy and colour you add to the human race.

That being said, the good book tells us how the Creator fashioned into a woman, the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to Adam. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called woman, because she was taken out of the man.” And that is what I would like to make this article about. What is this that makes you define a female as a woman?

We’ve heard men say; she is still a young girl, give her time. Or she is a mature woman, she is ready. What exactly is this that men refer to? Diane Marichild has it and I quote “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform” Wonderful.

Preferences vary across men. The spectrum is just as wide as there are men and I will invite men to comment “What is it that makes you conclude Now, that is a woman” Is it how she handles conflict? How deep her thoughts are? How broad her perspective is? How she dresses? How meticulously organized she is? What is it? Please share below.

We ought to celebrate the women in our lives and the women all around us for the magnificent role they play. Until we speak again, I am your host Mitchell Odhiambo. Welcome to a man’s world. To get a female perspective on this, click HERE to read Mercy’s post
