Introduction

Uber Technologies Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It develops, markets and operates the Uber mobile app, which allows consumers with smartphones to submit a trip request that is then routed to driver-partners who use their own cars. As of May 2016, the service was available in 75 countries and over 500 cities worldwide. Uber is now operational in Kenya (Nairobi and Mombasa) and is growing fast.

The company is currently looking for a Remote Marketing Specialist contractor to work closely with the Marketing Manager (East Africa), in executing Uber’s marketing strategies and ensuring these strategies are coordinated and rolled out into the key markets of: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala and Dar es Salaam. Job Description
Type of Contract: Fixed term. (Could be extended subject to performance)
Work Location: Nairobi but may be required occasionally to work in other locations
Hours of Work: 8am to 5pm (Occasional may be required to work outside these hours)
Salary: Starting KES 45,000 per month
Benefits: Free lunch

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Be part of a team developing, defining and refining the brand’s positioning and tone in Kenya
• Assist Marketing Manager (East Africa) in content creation and, developing and executing creative and integrated marketing campaigns from start to finish
• Work on both national and regional campaigns as Uber expands across East Africa
• Build (remote) but strong relationships with designers and suppliers in the key markets of: Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala and Dar es Salaam
• Ensure Uber marketing campaigns in Nairobi i.e. social media, billboards, brand ambassador activations are coordinated and executed in other markets by working with local specialists and suppliers
• Use your Photoshop skills to design & create campaigns that get people talking about the Uber brand and using the product
• Ensure campaign documents and images comply with social media site requirements and if not, amend and re-size as appropriate
